I have recently completed a new Photoshop action that will facilitate the making of a multipanel gallery wrap. What makes this action interesting is that it takes the right side of one panel and places it on the wrap of the left side of the adjacent panel. If you have produced multipanel gallery wraps, you know what I am talking about! Click HERE to go to the page.

I have just updated my Photoshop Action pages with a new tutorial and action. This action will create a fisheye looking panoramic image or tiny “Planet” depending on the image you run through the action. Have fun!
Tutorial and Photoshop action can be found HERE.

I just posted a new Photoshop action for free download. This action will shave off a line of pixels from any edge of your photo. Most useful after rotations or when working a tight crop.
A description of the action and a link for download can be found by clicking here.

Do you use a bubble level when you shoot photos? If so, you can stop reading right now. If you don’t, then you probably have realized that you need to perform some ( Hopefully ) minor rotations when editing your photos. If there are horizontal elements in your photo, this can be fairly easy. If there aren’t, then you may be looking for some clues within the photo. One thing we count on is water being level. Standing water is, moving water is not so beware… If we have level water, then a reflection of something beyond the water will be vertical to that thing in the photo. A quick glance at the photo in the tutorial will tell you everything you need to know.

Do you like the look of an image made with a full frame fisheye? I do, but a lot of people don’t, or you may want to use the lens as a cheat for an ultra-wide rectilinear lens. If you do, then you may want to visit a page where I discuss and show examples of an image that has been both defished and perspective corrected. That page is here.
If you have ever taken a photo where the background was so sharp and in focus that it distracted from a foreground element, then you probably have tried to remedy the situation in Photoshop. This would seem easy at first blush, but what I have learned is that a gaussian blur in Photoshop will introduce color from OUTSIDE THE SELECTION area and make the background look bad because of the introduced colors. My suggestion is to make friends with the technique here and embrace the ‘lock transparent pixels’ box on the layers menu. Full information can be found here.
I have updated the web page associated with the free triptych action for Photoshop. The updated page is located HERE Please update your links if you are linked to the old page. The old page will no longer be supported and will disappear some time in the near future. Thanks!
While you wait for the link to load you can look at this:
My most popular Photoshop action web page has been converted to the new WordPress page. This action will assist in the creation of gallery wraps for canvas prints that are destined to be stretched onto stretcher bars and hung on the wall frameless. The new web page is located HERE. Here is a sample image from the action.
I was asked to produce an action that would create a panel that consists of 8 by 10 images in a simulated white mat. I have never used this for anything other than development of the action, and am not sure why the request came at all… But here it is.
